A referral landed us at NOMAD Bangkok with a dozen fragmented ideas—neon sketches, island references, a handful of brand promises. Our job was hospitality interior design triage: pull the threads apart, keep what had soul, and reweave them into one cohesive, buildable concept.
We treated their briefing as a workshop. We translated the chaotic notes into a single story about discovery, movement, and warmth. Every material, every lighting cue, and every ritual had to answer the same question: can it survive real life in Bangkok without losing its raw edge?

What we focused on
\- defining the key guest journey moments so operators could describe the feeling in one sentence;
\- choosing materials (patinated brass, slate, textured plaster) that can look visceral and still clean easily under heavy spills;
\- aligning execution so the contractor knows what to protect and what to test, from ceiling heights to structural loads;
\- replacing scattered references with a diagram showing how circulation, service, and ritual connect.
Key decisions
- Keep the plan fluid but lock the ritual anchors (main bar, arrival sequence, private booth). Extra graphics came later.
- Use rough finishes where hands don’t linger and refined edges where guests touch frequently;
- Let the lighting sing the mood, then tune the ceiling and acoustics to support it;
- Guide the client through cost-reality trade-offs instead of letting every inspired idea balloon the budget.
Lessons from the referral

The final space pulses with layered light, textured surfaces, and a service sequence that feels inevitable. Concept to execution meant validating every sample, every switch, every idea in the real venue before anybody signed off on a change.
