Restaurant Interior Design in Bangkok

We design restaurants, bars and cafés that pull a crowd and keep it. Concept-first, material-led interiors built for the way Bangkok eats, drinks and posts — engineered to fill seats, not just win compliments.

What we design

F&B interiors, built to trade

If people eat or drink in it, we design it. Every layout is a business decision — covers, flow, service line and atmosphere all solved together.

Our approach

The Unformal method: raw, refined, alive

Design is not formal. It is unformal. We take raw street energy and turn it into industrial, vibrant, human F&B spaces. Here's the thing about restaurants — the room is a marketing asset, and the material system is what makes it un-copyable.

Material-led concepts

Pallets, PVC crates, oil barrels and glass bottles become bars, screens, banquettes and light fixtures. Distinctive, sustainable, and far cheaper than a conventional premium fit-out.

Designed to fill the room

We plan covers, sightlines, service flow and the all-important social zones so the space works commercially from opening night — atmosphere and operations in the same drawing.

Built to be shared

Raw texture plus refined detailing gives every corner a photograph. In F&B, a room people post is a room that markets itself — we design that in on purpose.

Emotional, not decorative

We chase a feeling — energy, warmth, edge — not a trend. The result is a venue guests connect with and come back to, which is the only metric that keeps the lights on.

Process

From concept to opening night, in five moves

Concept & narrative

We nail the story, the target guest and the trading model — the reason this restaurant should exist and win in its street.

Material system

We design the signature palette: which raw and reclaimed materials become the bar, the walls and the identity, costed from day one.

Design & detailing

Covers, flow, lighting, joinery and the service line worked into buildable drawings that balance atmosphere and operations.

Fit-out coordination

We work alongside contractors and makers through the build, protecting the detail so the finished room matches the concept.

Handover

Snagging, styling and a final walk-through — a venue that's ready to trade and ready for the camera on night one.

Why Unformaldesign

The studio behind the room

  • Led by Alessio Carta, Design Director & MAA Architect. An Italian-trained architect directing every F&B project personally — design instinct backed by real technical rigour.
  • Proven F&B track record in Bangkok. Concepts like Ailati and Ombra show a signature that turns restaurants and bars into destinations, not just seats.
  • International practice, local delivery. Experience across Europe, the USA and Asia, executed on the ground in Bangkok with Thai contractors and suppliers.
  • Commercially minded design. We design for covers, dwell time and repeat visits — beauty that also does the maths.
  • Sustainable and cost-smart. Reclaimed materials cut budget and waste while giving your venue a story worth telling.

FAQ

Restaurant interior design in Bangkok — answered

How much does restaurant interior design cost in Bangkok?

It varies with size, scope and finish, so we quote per project instead of a fixed rate. Our material-led method uses reclaimed and repurposed elements, which lets us deliver a striking, premium F&B interior on budgets a conventional fit-out can't match. Share your space and concept and we'll scope it fast.

Do you design bars and cafés as well as restaurants?

Yes. We design the full F&B range in Bangkok — restaurants, bars, cocktail rooms, cafés and casual concepts. Every project runs through the same method: concept, material system, detailed design and fit-out coordination, so the space looks distinctive and actually trades well.

How long does a restaurant fit-out take?

Timelines depend on size and site condition, but most F&B projects run from concept to opening over a few months. Because we're Bangkok-based and coordinate the fit-out directly with local contractors, we keep the schedule tight and protect the design detail through the build.

Can you make a small F&B space feel premium?

Absolutely — that's where the material-led method shines. Turning raw and reclaimed materials into bespoke bars, screens and lighting gives a compact café or bar a high-end, one-of-a-kind identity without a high-end budget, while smart layout maximises every cover.
